Hf guys, those indy youtubers were right
Hello all! I am so sorry for delays if you're actually watching.
I got sick, after downloading some new tools. Idk if this happens to anyone else, but it's always happened to me, even starting with music.
You'll save up your pennies, buy some amazing new software, and all of a sudden, literally everyone needs you?
Every time you want to sit down, things happen, and then, I got sick lol ffs.
Combined with learning and spending, more learning and more spending, I burnt out heavily and fell back a little.
I had taken a step back for a couple reasons on the game itself, optimizing and keeping it spooky and in high detail is a bit tough.
There are a lot of things in Unreal to do with this culling system called Nanite which is pretty sweet the way it works, but I am in unity and these plugins are expensive so I have to do some good ol' LOD and culling tricks, which slowed me down quite a bit.
There was then another hiccup with the dialogue system and unity 6 that was crushed by a cinemachine update, and I could go on and on lmao, it's hilarious how small all these little open source problems can add up.
It's ALLLL GOOOD THOUGH! I have in since I got sick, made a hilarious little edit of a song called Gooba by 6ix9ine, to learn more about the unity timeline system.
There's a few other pretty sweet things I had picked up from these lessons I gave myself and I feel I leveled up a fair amount.
I know it's not the, pixar blender level animation people are doing but being able to sync these animations up in game and put together any sort of video is light years ahead of what I was doing with media 12 months ago. This is a super huge, level up game changer for me!
So, there's that, which was pretty sweet and I am quite happy with, despite the few animation glitches I couldn't be arsed to deal with in the end. I could of waited till morning but eh, whatever. Ladys feet go through the floor, sue me.With the previous cinemachine breaks in my game I mentioned before, it broke quite a few things and set me back quite a bit, but thankfully we're back to 100%!
I am merging the cutscene and story system with the missions and am going to be adding in quite a lot of stuff to explore, just in the teeny area I made in the first version. I don't really wanna say too much but how many people are really reading?
Lots of caves, dungeons and sewery things are going to be added to really make a fun and entertaining experience.
Pretty stoked, going to be an adventure y'all!
